“Introverts may have strong social skills and enjoy parties and business meetings, but after a while wish they were home in their pajamas. They prefer to devote their social energies to close friends, colleagues, and family. They listen more than they talk, think before they speak, and often feel as if they express themselves better in writing than in conversation. They tend to dislike conflict. Many have a horror of small talk, but enjoy deep discussions.”— Susan Cain (via onlinecounsellingcollege)

I wish more parents would instill individuality in their children. That’s one thing I’ve admired about Will and Jada with giving their kids the freedom to be exactly who they are instead of forcing them to assimilate and be exactly like their peers. I love seeing children with strong distinctive personalities: they know what they do and don’t like and aren’t afraid to voice it. This saves children from living double lives, lying, killing themselves to look like the next person, etc when they are adults. They won’t be switching up when they are in different environments or are around other people. There will be no act. Please encourage your kids and loved ones to be themselves.
